New Delhi:

A five-year-old girl was abducted and then raped in north Delhi’s outskirts on Wednesday, police said.

Police said a girl was abducted by a man while she was playing outside her house at Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy on Wednesday.

The moment the child was abducted was captured by a CCTV installed nearby. CCTV footage shows the alleged kidnapper holding the girl in his arms.

The five-year-old boy was found near a nearby park early the next morning, authorities said, and he was taken to the hospital for a medical examination, where doctors confirmed that he had been raped.

The accused is missing and they are searching for him, the police said.

The girl’s parents are daily bets. A missing person complaint was filed after she did not return home on Wednesday night.

After his parents reported him missing, the police formed three teams to trace the boy, and his photo was shared with other police stations.

Advertisements were also made around him, a police official said.

Devesh Kumar Mahla, deputy commissioner of police in north Delhi’s outskirts, said the search continued throughout the night and the child was found at 7 am on Thursday near a park.

“We hope to catch the accused soon,” he said.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act for the rape and abduction of the minor girl.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has sought a police report in this case.

“A five-year-old girl was raped in Delhi. She was picked up from the front of her residence in Bhalswa Dairy and later found near a lake. She underwent surgery in a hospital. My team is with her. We have issued a call. Alert Delhi Police to arrest the accused soon.” , DCW chief Swati Maliwal tweeted in Hindi.
