After 2 Years of Sombre Festivities, Christmas Celebrated with Gaiety in Telugu States


Hyderabad: After two years of the nightmare of the COVID restrictions, people of the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana celebrated the Christmas festival with fervor on Sunday. Last year’s Christmas celebrations lacked cheer and joy due to the Covid pandemic.

Churches in both states held special prayers and songs after midnight. On Sunday morning, people were seen attending special services and taking part in the Christmas celebration in the churches.

Churches across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were decorated and the festive spirit began on Saturday night with special midnight masses.

Churches in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad were packed with young and old, men and women, dressed in their finest for morning mass. A large number of churchgoers were also seen at the historic Church of South India (CSI) in Medak. .
