Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and party problem-solver Digvijaya Singh convinced senior Telangana Pradesh Congress Party (TPCC) leaders to postpone Tuesday’s meeting.
After Digvijaya Singh’s call to former MLA Maheshwar Reddy, senior TPCC leaders of the Save Congress movement postponed the proposed meeting. Maheshwar Reddy informed the media that Digvijaya Singh called him and said that if there is any problem, the party high command will resolve it through talks.
Maheshwar Reddy said he had confidence in Digvijaya Singh that the issues would be resolved through the intervention of senior Congress leaders.
“Since a senior leader like Mr. Digvijay Singh has stepped in and assured that he will hold talks with everyone and resolve the issue, we have decided to postpone the meeting,” said Maheshwar Reddy.
The former Congress MP further told reporters that their slogan is “Save the Congress” and all senior leaders have only asked for “equal justice and social balance” in the party.
It may be recalled here that the Telangana Congress tussle started with top leaders giving prominence to leaders who had migrated from TDP to Congress at the expense of “original and loyal leaders”.
