AIIMS Delhi water problem: In what could be a serious snowballing problem, resident doctors at AIIMS in Delhi have reported that live worms and insects are being found in the water supply in their accommodation, particularly in the Trauma Center campus of the institute. Earlier, the same doctors complained about food quality and hygiene problems.

When asked by the resident doctors association (RDA) of the institute, the members said that the problem of water pollution in the hostels is at different levels, but the residents living in the new hostels located in the Masjid Moth complex are the most affected.

A few days back, the AIIMS administration had initiated an investigation into an allegation that a cockroach was found in a meal served to a patient admitted to the institute. The incident came to light after a Twitter user posted the details along with the photos.

He said a cockroach was found in a ‘daal’ served to a four-year-old child. After the tweet, official sources said, “Hospital authorities have taken serious notice of the incident and are investigating the matter.
