Fisheries and Livestock Minister Seediri Appalaraju said former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had changed the lease period of 33 years to 99 years only during his industrial policy tenure, then why the “evil quartet” was criticizing the government for 99 years. “Dusta Chatusthayam” (the evil quartet) would not be able to digest even if Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy takes any decision that will benefit the people of the State. A news story published in a Telugu popular daily about Amul on Tuesday was the latest attempt at ‘Dushta Chatushtyam’ as part of the mudslinging against Jagan Mohan Reddy, according to the minister.
Speaking to reporters at the Government Circuit House on Tuesday, Mr. Appalaraju said the Telugu newspaper had written an article on the State government asking dairy company Amul to take over the closed Vijaya dairy in Chittoor on a lease term of 99 years. ₹ 1 crore rental amount per annum.
The minister alleged that Vijaya dairy was closed during former minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s regime for opening Heritage dairy, but the same newspaper did not write an article then, he added.
The “evil quartet” wrote some news about Amul’s takeover of Vijaya milk and aired some episodes against the Jagan government’s decision to target the closed milk factory for job creation, the minister said.
After Amul comes into the State, a cattle farmer can get a maximum of ₹82.56 per liter of buffalo milk and ₹42.57 per liter of cow milk. He said it is the highest price in the state.
