CM Stalin launches ‘Namma School Foundation’ initiative

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin turned nostalgic during his visit to Chetpet Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School on Saturday and said he was proud that his brothers also studied at the alma mater.

Speaking at the school’s 2022 convocation, he had never imagined in his youth that he would one day become the chief minister.

“I did not imagine that one day I would be the head of a political party and even become the chief minister. You wouldn’t think so either. But everything happened. This school is also among the reasons for becoming a chief minister. I am proud to be a student of this school”, he said.

A Government Order (GO) has been issued against the acquisition of land by the DMK regime in Tamil Nadu without the consent of the farmers, and it is a victory for their protests and the AIADMK that supported them, the interim leader of the main opposition party, Edappadi K Palaniswami. (EPS) said on Saturday.

Farmers were stunned by a GO (August 16, 2021) to purchase 3,800 hectares of agricultural land by talukas to set up an industrial estate including Avinashi in Coimbatore region and his party opposed the move since then, Palaniswami said.

Leading a hunger strike in Coimbatore on December 2 against property tax, electricity tariff and other similar anti-people measures, the EPS said in a statement that it condemned the government over the land acquisition issue.
