Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM has suspended DYFI leader JJ Abhijith from its senior membership following allegations against him. Earlier, a woman activist filed a complaint against Abhijith, alleging that he misbehaved with her. Amid such allegations, a voice clip related to Abhijith’s age surfaced on Saturday and sparked a new controversy.
After that, CPM took action against the DYFI leader.
Earlier, the Nemom area committee had decided to move Abhijith from area committee member to senior member following the complaint of the woman activist. A decision in this regard was taken by a meeting chaired by district secretary Aanavoor Nagappan. But after this move, some members alleged that Aanavoor is trying to protect Abhijith.
Meanwhile, the party was forced to take strict action against Abhijith after the voice clip sparked controversy. The voice clip revealed that Abhijith forged documents to prove that he was 26 years old to continue as SFI district secretary. He revealed that the documents were prepared on the advice of Aanavoor Nagappan.
