Govt tenders unconditional apology to HC for delay in confiscating assets of PFI leaders – KERALA – GENERAL

KOCHI: The government apologized unconditionally for not complying with the High Court’s order to confiscate property in the case of destruction of public property during Popular Front raids. Additional Chief Secretary Dr V Venu appeared in the court as per the order of the high court. The High Court has expressed dismay at the delay in the process of confiscating the assets of Popular Front leaders.

The additional chief secretary assured in writing that the confiscation process would be completed by January 15. The High Court accepted the affidavit filed by the government. The High Court assessed that the destruction of public property was a serious incident.

In the meantime, Abdul Sathar, the former Secretary of State of the Popular Front, who is accused in the case, will be presented via video conference from the court. More than 140 cases have been registered against him in various stations.
