THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on Tuesday, a decision was taken to release the actual document given in the Supreme Court on the buffer zone issue. This is to address the concerns of the citizens. It will be possible to send additional information to be included in the map.
On Wednesday, there will be an online meeting of 87 panchayat presidents, secretaries, village officers, tehsildars and forest officials with the participation of revenue, forest and local self-government ministers. Details of the field check will be decided at the meeting.
Today’s summit has decided to publish the document given to the Supreme Court to clarify the position of the State government, to address the concerns of the citizens. There is a decision to exclude residential areas. The opinion received in the meeting is that the satellite survey report published on the website is not a genuine document and on the basis of this, discussions are now taking place. This is why the document is published. The prime minister will hold a press conference to explain the measures. The press conference will take place after tomorrow’s government meeting.
Meanwhile, Congress plans to coordinate a protest against the government on the buffer zone issue. Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala responded that the decisions taken in the high-level meeting on the issue are meaningless. He said that the Congress will protect the interests of farmers at any cost.
