Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy rainfall will continue in the southern states, including Kerala. An IMD bulletin said a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal off the southwest coast of Sri Lanka on November 9.
“It is very likely to move northwestwards towards the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast with slight intensification in the next 48 hours. Heavy rain is likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry-Karaikal and Kerala for the next three days,” he said. .
The IMD has also predicted heavy rains in the state for Saturday and Sunday. A yellow alert has been set in several districts. They are:
Saturday: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad
