2022 is just one week away and this year has been incredible for Netflix, with blockbuster releases of movies and shows that have hit global charts. We have prepared a list of films and shows. From crime thrillers, political dramas and family dramas to romcoms and reality shows.

‘May’

Directed by Atul Mongia and starring Sakshi Tanwar, Vivek Mushran, Raima Sen, Mai is a crime drama thriller. The story revolves around the life of a middle-aged woman who seeks the truth and revenge for the death of her daughter.

“Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein”

Directed by Sidharth Sengupta and starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi Sharma and Anchal Singh, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein is a romantic crime thriller series. The eight-episode title revolves around Purva’s (Anchal Singh) obsessive love for her childhood classmate Vikrant (Tahir). Purva, the daughter of a local politician and mob kingpin, takes various precautions while adopting dangerous tactics to stay with Vikrant.

‘Fame Game’

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Madhuri Dixit’s OTT debut Nene delves into the dark side of stardom. The touching family drama follows the life of a famous Bollywood actress Anamika Anand, played by Madhuri, who mysteriously disappears after an awards night. As the investigation into her disappearance progresses, layers of secrets surrounding her life and family are revealed. The eight-episode serial stars Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Muskaan Jaferi, Lakshvir Saran and Suhasini Muley in pivotal roles.

‘Her 2’

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, She 2 stars Aaditi Pohankar, Vijay Varma and Vishwas Kini in pivotal roles. The second season follows the life of Bhumika Pardeshi (Aaditi Pohankar), a police officer who works undercover in an investigation and uses her sexuality to her advantage.

‘Masaba Masaba 2’

Directed by Sonam Nair and starring Masaba Gupta and her mother Neena Gupta performing their own versions, Masaba Masaba returns with its second season. This seven-episode series revolves around a mother-daughter duo who struggle to stay relevant in changing times as they deal with their inner insecurities.

‘Delhi Crime 2’

The critically acclaimed Netflix series Delhi Crime is back with a second season starring Shefali Shah, Rajesh Tailang and Rasika Dugal. A fictional version of true crime, the story revolves around serial killers who viciously kill elderly people in the city. Although the death rate has increased, the police cannot identify the culprit. Putting an end to this gruesome killing spree will be a challenge for Vartika’s team.

‘darling’

Starring Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in key roles, this dark comedy is directed by debutant filmmaker Jasmeet K. Reen. This Netflix movie portrays the story of an abusive marriage between Badru and Hamza in a very real and powerful way. Being a violent woman, Badru seeks revenge against her husband; The story also involves a mother and daughter trying to make their way through Mumbai, facing difficult situations while finding love and courage.

“The Wonderful Lives of Bollywood Wives 2”

Starring Seema Sajdeh, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey and Neelam Kothari, this Netflix series follows the lives of four Bollywood star wives who juggle their careers, family and friendships. ‘Qala’

Directed by Anvita Dutt, it stars Tripti Dimrii, Babil Khan, Swastika Mukherjee and Amit Sial. Set in Kolkata in the late 1930s, the period musical drama revolves around a young playback singer Qala Manjushree (Tripti Dimrii), haunted by her tragic past, dealing with the pressure of success and sharing a complicated relationship with her mother.

“2 don’t match”

Directed by Akarsh Khurana and starring Prajakta Koli, Rohit Saraf, Vidya Malvade and Rannvijay Singh, Mismatched is a romantic Netflix drama based on Sandhya Menon’s best-selling book. Season 2 returned with more drama, fun and romance than the previous one. The story revolves around Dimple (Prajakta Koli), a young woman who wants to become a tech wizard and Rishi (Rohit Saraf), a young man who is looking for a happily ever after.
