Jayarajans at loggerheads, CPM state secretary seeks written complaint

Kannur: CPM state secretary MV Govindan has asked state committee member P Jayarajan to lodge a complaint against his comrade EP Jayarajan against allegations of financial irregularities.

The development comes after P Jayarajan raised allegations against his namesake, who also happens to be the LDF convener, in connection with an Ayurveda resort in Kannur district.

According to the charges filed in the party’s state committee, EP Jayarajan’s family members are also guilty. His son is a member of the board of directors of an Ayurveda resort in Anthoor township, which was allegedly built by dragging a part of a hill.

EP Jayarajan’s wife Indira and son Jaison are believed to be on the board. Manorama News reports that the resort has managed an investment of Rs 6.65 crore.

Jayarajan has yet to publicly respond to the allegations. The veteran leader is understood to be staying away from party meetings allegedly disturbed by his leadership.

Meanwhile, P Jayarajan refused to divulge details about the allegations. He just announced the decision taken by the party to deal with internal problems.

“Internal conflicts of wrong tendencies are common within the party. As part of this, the state committee has approved a draft which can be discussed at all levels within the party,” P Jayarajan told the media on Saturday.
