A group of unidentified criminals stabbed a man to death in Krishnapura, on the outskirts of Mangaluru in Karnataka, police said on Sunday as they imposed restrictions in the area for 48 hours from 6 am on December 25 to avoid any incident.
The police also ordered a ban on the sale of liquor until December 27.
The person killed in Saturday night’s incident has been identified as Jaleel, police said. The reason behind the attack is still unknown.
Jaleel was stabbed while standing in front of his shop. His assailants fled the scene after the attack, added the police.
The victim was immediately taken to the hospital, but died during treatment. “The injured breathed his last and now the body is being shifted to AJ hospital for further procedures,” said police commissioner N Shashikumar.
The Mangaluru City Police Commissioner issued prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC in Surathkal, Bajpe, Kavoor and Panambur police station limits from December 25, Sunday, 6 am to December 27, Tuesday, 6 am to prevent untoward incidents. murder.
