Author: Sagay Raj: A man in Karnataka killed a woman who rejected his advances. He then tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. The killing took place in PJ Layout area of ​​Davangere.

The accused, identified as Chand Peer, was in love with 28-year-old Chand Sultan. Peer wanted to marry Sultan but she was married to another man, Ayub.

On Thursday morning, Sultana, who worked at a Muslim hostel, was alighting near her vehicle when Chand Peer attacked her.

He then tried to kill himself by consuming poison. He was taken to the hospital and is currently being treated in the ICU.

According to police sources, both Chand Peer and Sultana knew each other and were in a relationship before. Peer wanted to marry Sultana but was disappointed that she was married to another person, sources said.

The police have registered a case and further investigations are underway.
