Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said that the general knowledge test for the recruitment of teachers in the state has been canceled as a precautionary measure to prevent injustice to the youth.
His comments came after the paper was leaked hours before the exam began on Saturday.
“Today, December 24, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the general knowledge test for teacher recruitment has been canceled as a precautionary measure so that no injustice is done to the youth workers,” Gehlot wrote.
“The rest of the exams will continue as usual. The government will not allow any injustice to happen to any youth and the most severe punishment will be imposed on the guilty,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that the government has introduced a strict law for transparency in recruitment examinations.
Unfortunately, paper dumping gangs have flourished across the country, which is why incidents such as paper leaks are occurring in many states. But in Rajasthan, strict measures have been taken to jail unscrupulous elements, Gehlot said.
“I feel the problems that the examinees have, but those who come with the intention of passing the exam through unfair means will not be able to be selected. Only youth workers will get their rights in Rajasthan. My appeal is that instead of being cheated by someone, you should keep preparing,” he said.
The opposition BJP hit out at the state government over the issue.
BJP state president Satish Poonia tweeted, “Another paper leak has happened. Thousands of youths have traveled to appear for the exam, shivering in the cold. Where is the general awareness and knowledge of the state government.”
