Mukesh Ambani-backed Reliance Jio launched its 5G services at Kochi and Guruvayur temple premises in Kerala. The service was digitally inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan.
Jio users in Kochi and Guruvayur will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer to experience unlimited data at 1 Gbps+ speed at no extra cost, the company said in a press release.
CM Vijayan stated that the long term benefits of 5G services would be a game changer for the people of Kerala.
Jio demonstrated the immersive benefits of 5G in healthcare through the Jio Community Clinic medical kit and the revolutionary Jio Glass AR-VR device. These benefits will bring transformative changes in the lives of people in Kerala, the company said.
“Jio has invested over Rs 6,000 crore to roll out 5G network in Kerala and this shows their commitment to our State. They will be launching 5G services in Trivandrum by the end of this month followed by Thrissur, Kozhikode and Malappuram by January 2023. By December 2023 all tehsils and taluks of Kerala will have Jio’s 5G they will have services,” Vijayan said.
“With the launch of Jio’s True 5G services, Kerala is not only getting the best telecom network but will also open doors for growth in the areas of e-government, education, healthcare, IT and SME businesses. 5G will also enable its citizens. and It will also improve the government’s ability to stay connected in real time and the implementation of government schemes and efficiency for the last mile user,” added Vijayan.
“We are excited to launch Jio True 5G in Kochi and Guruvayur temple in Kerala. Soon, Jio True 5G network will spread across the length and breadth of Kerala. Jio is the only 5G network present here,” a Jio spokesperson said at the launch event.
