Khammam: The streets of Sathupalli in the district turned pink as a magnificent colorful procession took out on the first visit of newly elected Rajya Sabha members Vaddiraju Ravinchandra and Bandi Parthasarathi Reddy to the town on Friday.
Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, TRS (BRS) Lok Sabha floor leader, Khammam MP Nama Nageshwar Rao, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Sathupalli MLA S Venkata Veeraiah, former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and others attended a public meeting in Rajya. The members of the Sabha were congratulated in a grand manner.
Addressing the meeting, the minister stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has given great importance to Khammam district. Hence, two district leaders were sent to the Rajya Sabha.
The development that did not happen in 70 years was achieved in eight years in the State. SCCL had a lion’s share of the funds spent on laying a railway line from Bhadrachalam to Sathupalli, but the Center did not have the minimum courtesy to invite the district minister for the inauguration, he said.
Ajay Kumar accused the BJP party of doing shady politics by sending fortune tellers to Hyderabad to buy MLAs. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was touring Kashmir to Kanyakumari with his Bharat Jodo yatra without even visiting Gujarat where the elections were taking place.
MP Nageshwar Rao stated that the party MPs would expose the BJP government’s anti-Telangana stand in Parliament. The Central leaders were falsely criticizing the TRS government for not getting the rice produced by the farmers of the state.
TRS party was the party which is close to the people of Telangana. People of Telangana should support the Chief Minister and teach a lesson to the parties who were talking nonsense. The Center stopped the Bhadrachalam to Kovvur railway at Sathupalli instead of extending it to Kovvur, he said.
MP Ravichandra described Chandrashekhar Rao as a “Jathipita” who fulfilled the 60-year-old wish for a separate Telangana. He thanked the Chief Minister for giving him and Parthasarathi Reddy an opportunity to attend the Rajya Sabha. The election season of 2023 began and TRS declared that it would win the first 10 Assembly seats from Khammam district.
