Sanjay Raut’s Fresh Barb At Prime Minister

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party for calling Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ wife Amruta Fadnavis as the father of New India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to a report by news agency PTI, Raut in his weekly Rokhthok column said in the party’s mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ that this is an “insult” to Modi in the new India as the specters of hunger, poverty, unemployment and terrorism are rising. the heads

“No one in the BJP talks about Veer Savarkar being the father of the nation (a freedom fighter). The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was always against Savarkar who faced strict imprisonment. These people have divided India into old and new India.” The Rajya Sabha member further claimed.

In a court interview recently, Amruta, who is a banker and singer, said, “We have two ‘rashtra pitas’. Narendra Modi is the father of New India and Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the nation from the early days.” It drew strong reactions from the opposition Congress and Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson, Tushar Gandhi.

Raut on Sunday said that the BJP does not support the independence gained from the martyrdom of freedom fighters.

“Today in the new India, the specters of hunger, poverty, unemployment, terrorism are raising their heads. Making Modi the father of the new India is an insult to him,” Raut wrote in the Marathi publication.

He said that the title of Father of the Nation was given to Mahatma Gandhi by the people of India.

Many political opponents, including Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, had objections, Raut said.

He questioned the contribution of BJP leaders in the freedom struggle, saying that the issue here is not who is the Father of the Nation or who is the Sardar, it is the contribution of the RSS in the freedom struggle.

“BJP and RSS played no role in the freedom movement and hence they have to steal icons associated with Congress like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose,” alleged Raut.
