Tamil Actor Maayi Sundar of ‘Vennil Kabadi Kuzhu’ fame passes away at 50


Tamil actress Maayi Sundar of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu fame passed away on December 24, 2022 at 2:45 am due to health issues. Actor Sampathram announced the death of his close friend Maayi Sundar in a Facebook post.

Maai Sundar has appeared in over fifty films including Maayi, Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Kullanari Kootam, Milakai, Silkuvar Patti Singham, Gatta Kusthi and Katchikkaran.

He died while being treated for jaundice in his native Mannargudi. His co-star Hari Vairavain, who played Vishnu Vishal’s friend Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Kullanari Kootam, passed away a few days ago. Popular actor Nitish Veera, who starred in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu part 1 and 2 along with Maayi Sundar, died a year ago due to COVID.

Maayi Sundar had a very elaborate career as an actress. Vishnu acted in four films directed by Vishal namely Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Kullanari Kootam, Silkuvar Patti Singam and Gatta Kusthi. Various parts of his new film Katchikaaran have become popular on social media platforms.

As he owed his fame to the film Maayi, he prefixed the name of the film to his name. She played the lead role in “Maayi” alongside Sarath Kumar, Meena and Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu.

Maayi was directed by Suriya Prakash and produced by renowned film producer RB Chowdry under his well established production house Super Good Films.
