After the death of Forest Range Officer (FRO) CH Srinivas Rao in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, the Telangana forest officials issued an ultimatum to the state government, asking them to provide them with weapons like those issued to police officials, for their protection. from invaders while performing their duties.
The forest officials said they will boycott their duties by writing any response from the government to their demands.
The officer himself was attacked near a forest plantation area in Chandrugonda mandal, where some tribals along with another forest official had gone there to prevent damage to the plantation.
The FRO, who bled profusely during the attack, was rushed to a hospital in Chandrugonda and from there shifted to a private hospital in Khammam in a critical condition, where he succumbed, officials said.
