Veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away in the wee hours of Friday at her home in Filmnagar. He was 87 years old and had been suffering from age-related ailments for the last few days. Known for his villainous and other character roles, Satyanarayana’s death left a void in the hearts of his fans. He acted in more than 700 films in a career spanning about six decades and was unwell for a long time. She made her debut with the Telugu film ‘Sipai Koothuru’ in 1959 and went on to star in many blockbusters.

In a career spanning six decades, Satyanarayana acted in around 800 films. Although he excelled as the main villain in films, he was also famous for his portrayal of mythological figures, especially Lord Yama, the Hindu god of death.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the death of veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana, who he said was known across generations for her outstanding acting skills and diverse roles. Modi tweeted, “Saddened by the death of eminent film personality Shri Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu. He was known for generations for his outstanding acting skills and diverse roles. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

From NT Rama Rao, Nageswara Rao, Krishna to Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Balakrishna and Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Satyanarayana acted alongside the entire gamut of Tollywood film stars of various generations. Mahesh Babu last appeared in 2019 as ‘Maharshi’. Tollywood stars and personalities from both the Telugu states have mourned the death of Satyanarayana who was famous for his acting prowess and kind heart.

Mahesh Babu tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the demise of #KaikalaSatyanarayana garu. I have very fond memories of working with him. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.” On the other hand, Ram Charan said, ” Very sad to hear of the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu.. His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever!! May his soul rest in peace”

Family sources said Satyanarayana’s last rites will be performed on Saturday.
