Turkish chef Nusr-et Gokce aka Salt Bae has been banned from the US Open Cup final, the American soccer tournament’s official Twitter said in a tweet. The decision was made after the chef left soccer fans around the world angry at the FIFA World Cup final.

The chef received backlash on the internet after joining Argentina’s players and their families on the pitch at Lusail Stadium during World Cup celebrations. He even removed the prized FIFA trophy and took pictures with it.

Salt Bae broke FIFA’s top rule after Argentina beat France in the final. He took the players’ trophy and kissed it. According to FIFA rules, the 18-carat gold trophy can only be touched by tournament winners and heads of state. Meanwhile, netizens were happy with the decision.
