Two rowdy sheeters shot in the leg on Bengaluru’s outskirts and apprehended


Two foot soldiers, including one who allegedly attacked a police constable recently, were shot in the leg and apprehended on the outskirts of Jigani and Anekal on Sunday, December 25.

Varun Kumar, 25, and Kishore of Dinnur village in Anekal attacked constable Ranganath of Anekal police station on December 22 when he objected to them drinking on the road and creating ruckus. Ranganath sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Police said that on Sunday morning, informing that the accused were in Kallubalu village of Anekal, they raided the place, and when they tried to nab them, Varun Kumar attacked another policeman, Shankar Siddpura, forcing the policemen. shot him in the leg in defense and then apprehended him. Victoria is currently being treated at the hospital. There are 14 cases, one murder, 5 attempted murders and two cases against Varun Kumar, and he was at large, wanted in various cases.

In another case, the Jigani police shot another sheeter Ajay in the leg, who was recently wanted for several dogs and kidnappings in Bannerghatta and Jigani areas, and nabbed him on Sunday morning.

After a robbery and abduction, Jigani and Bannerghatta police formed special teams to nab rowdy sheeters Krishna and Ajay, who investigations revealed were behind these crimes. Informing that the couple were in Singasandra, Jigani police went there on a night patrol and successfully nabbed Krishna, but Ajay fled on his scooter and was spotted again in Haragadde village after a few hours.

When police tried to apprehend him, he allegedly tried to attack him with a dagger and did not surrender even after a warning shot in the air, forcing officers to shoot him in the leg and arrest him, police said. Ajay has more than 23 cases registered including robbery, theft and kidnapping.
