Veteran Telugu film actor Chalapathi Rao died on Sunday morning at his Hyderabad residence after suffering a cardiac arrest. The actor who was known for portraying negative roles was 78 years old.

In a career spanning five decades, Rao acted in more than 600 films. He also produced a few films under the RC Creations banner.

Telugu film industry in a state of shock

Rao’s journey in Tollywood

Rao was born in 1944 in Baliparru, Andhra Pradesh. Entering his films Sr. It happened with NTR’s push and he debuted with this Warrior 116 (1966).

It was his last film Bangarraju (2022), starring Naga Chaitanya, Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishnan and Krithi Shetty.

Rao also entered the OTT space with ZEE5 Chadarangam (2020).
