Sakshi Mhasek lifted a total of 168kg to win the gold medal in the 49kg category at the Khelo India National Ranking women’s weightlifting tournament on Saturday.
In the absence of Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu, Sakshi helped her to top honors in the 73kg deadlift and 95kg clean and jerk.
Sneha Soren (167kg) and Gyaneshwari Yadav (164kg) won silver and bronze medals.
Gyaneshwari pocketed the junior crown as Harshada Garud, a recent Asian 45kg bronze medalist with an aggregate of 152kg, finished fourth (68kg, 86kg net) at 154kg.
Panchami Sonowal (68 kg, 92 kg, 160 kg) was the winner of the junior title in 49 kg.
Sanjita Chanu, the National Games silver medalist in 49kg, bagged the gold in the 55kg category with a total of 185kg.
Usha (79kg, 102kg, 181kg) won the junior title, while B. Chandrika (68kg, 91kg, 159kg) emerged as the junior champion in 55kg.
