The program is a one-hour biographical look “Naggali” On Rumi’s life, his inspiration for writing and his signature philosophy on various issues in life. A will lead the program ‘Naqgal’ it tells the story of his life through his original ghazals, both recited in the originally written Persian language, followed by a Hindi-Urdu translation.

About the performer:

The show is created and performed by Ashwin Afraad, who discusses the beauty of Farsi through its unique literature. Ashwin has been studying the Persian language for over four years.

To develop his language skills beyond the scope of his own language, he began studying Persian literature and discovered deep Persian poetry and storytelling. He also holds a Masters in Philosophy, which helped him gain a deeper understanding of Persian philosophy and way of life. Ashwin won the National Award for Best Child Artist for the Marathi film “Shwas” in 2004.

His experience in the performing arts and the Persian language inspired him to create a performance that showcases the beauty of this language through the poetry and philosophy of Maulana Rumi, who is considered one of the most iconic Farsi writers of all time.
