Mukesh Kumar’s base price was 20 lakhs in the auction. But he was bagged by Delhi Capitals for Rs 5.50 crore. In the auction, almost every team wanted to include Mukesh in their team, but in the end Delhi won the bid. His father worked as a taxi driver. He started playing cricket after joining a second tier CAB league club called Bani Niketan. He then took the opportunity to participate in the Vision 2020 trials and was eventually selected for the Bengal Ranji team.
